MSC World Asia completes installation of dragon sculpture
The stainless-steel feature has been suspended above the Outdoor World Promenade as construction continues in France.
MSC Cruises has completed the installation of a dragon sculpture aboard MSC World Asia, its third World Class ship. The vessel remains under construction at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
Designed by Balich Wonder Studio, the stainless-steel sculpture is 12 metres long and 3.5 metres wide. It is suspended 10 metres above the ship’s Outdoor World Promenade.
The dragon has a pearlescent-white finish and incorporates nearly 700 mirrors. Its lighting system includes 400 metres of integrated strip lighting and more than 3,000 LED light points.
MSC World Asia is scheduled to begin Mediterranean service on 4 December 2026. The ship will operate seven-night itineraries visiting Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta.
