MSC plans direct recruitment from Kenyan college
The proposed graduate pathway spans cruise hospitality, guest relations, maritime operations and deck cadetships.

Mediterranean Shipping Company, a global cruise and cargo operator, plans to recruit graduates directly from Ronald Ngala Utalii College in Kilifi, Kenya. The initiative is intended to connect Kenyan students with international careers in seafaring and hospitality.
The recruitment partnership covers a range of shipboard positions, including cruise hospitality, guest relations, specialized maritime operations and deck cadetships. MSC has indicated that graduates of the institution will be considered directly for these career opportunities.
Training at the college includes international maritime safety standards, customer service and specialized language instruction. The curriculum is designed to prepare trainees for work aboard global cruise ships.
Students studying at the Kilifi campus are also required to secure mandatory maritime endorsements. These include Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping certificates, commonly known as STCW certificates. The certifications are recognized internationally as prerequisites for seafarers.
