MSC Cruises partnership opens shipboard roles to Namibians
The initiative seeks to place young local candidates in international hospitality, retail, wellness and customer service positions.

The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board has partnered with MSC Cruises to provide local talent with access to global career pathways in response to severe youth unemployment and limited opportunities for practical work experience.
A recruitment drive conducted in 2023 and early 2024 attracted more than 8400 applications. According to figures released for the initiative, 42 candidates received job offers and 25 took positions aboard MSC cruise ships.
MSC Cruises made close to 200 job opportunities available to Namibians this year. A total of 75 candidates had received employment offers, with four having departed to begin work abroad. The remaining candidates were scheduled to embark between November 2026 and March 2027, leaving 130 vacancies open.
The current opportunities are available to Namibian citizens aged 18 or older who have completed Grade 10, 11 or 12 and are proficient in German. The initiative aims to place hundreds of young Namibians in onboard roles across hospitality, retail, wellness and customer service.
