MSC Cruises cancels MSC Armonia repositioning voyage
The cruise line attributed the cancellation to the continuing security situation in the Red Sea region.

MSC Cruises has cancelled MSC Armonia’s planned repositioning voyage to South Africa because of the continuing security situation in the Red Sea region.
The 26-night Grand Voyage was scheduled to leave Marghera, Italy, on November 1st, 2026, and reach Durban after passing through the Suez Canal and Red Sea. MSC Cruises said the geopolitical situation in the Suez region and its effect on maritime transport meant safe passage through those waters could no longer be guaranteed. The company said passenger safety and well-being were the primary considerations behind its decision.
MSC Armonia is scheduled to sail from Durban during the 2026-2027 winter season. MSC Cruises has not announced how the ship will be repositioned following the cancellation.
Passengers booked on the cancelled voyage can cancel without penalty and receive a full refund or move their reservation to another MSC Grand Voyage of a similar duration. They can also transfer without penalty to another MSC Cruises voyage that is currently available to book. If they choose that option, the fare for the new sailing will apply, while payments already made will be transferred to the replacement reservation.
