MOL Cruises unveils Mitsui Ocean Sakura before September launch
The Japan-registered vessel is scheduled to replace Nippon Maru as the second ship in the MOL Cruises fleet.

MOL Cruises has unveiled Mitsui Ocean Sakura ahead of its scheduled entry into service in September. The vessel, formerly known as Seabourn Sojourn, will replace Nippon Maru, which was retired in May.
Mitsui Ocean Sakura is 198.15 metres long and 26 metres wide, with gross tonnage of 34,138. It has 229 staterooms and can accommodate up to 458 passengers. Approximately 90% of its cabins have private balconies.
The ship’s dining programme will retain signature dishes associated with Nippon Maru, including roast beef and curry. Its sushi bar has been redesigned, while a new foot bath has also been added onboard.
Mitsui Ocean Sakura will become the second vessel in the MOL Cruises fleet. It will join Mitsui Ocean Fuji, which entered service in December 2024.
