Mitsui Ocean Sakura set to enter service Saturday
MOL Cruises’ new all-suite ship will focus mainly on short voyages lasting one to three nights.

Mitsui Ocean Sakura is scheduled to begin service Saturday for MOL Cruises, the Tokyo-based cruise affiliate of shipping company Mitsui OSK Lines.
The approximately 200-meter ship succeeds Nippon Maru, which ended its 35 years of service. Mitsui Ocean Sakura has 229 guest rooms and five restaurants, and is expected to operate mainly on itineraries of one to three nights.
A three-day Seto Inland Sea cruise departing Jan. 3, 2027, is priced from ¥194,000 ($1,240) per person. The round-trip sailing will depart from and return to the Port of Kobe.
MOL Cruises also operates Mitsui Ocean Fuji, which made its debut at the end of 2024.
