Mitsui Ocean Cruises names Mitsui Ocean Sakura
The former Seabourn Sojourn is the second vessel acquired from Seabourn and added to the Japanese cruise company’s fleet.

Mitsui Ocean Cruises, a subsidiary of Japanese shipping company Mitsui OSK Lines, has formally named Mitsui Ocean Sakura, the second cruise ship it acquired from Seabourn.
The company purchased the 458-guest Seabourn Sojourn in early 2025. After the sale, Seabourn chartered the vessel back from Mitsui Ocean Cruises and continued operating its published voyages through the completion of its world cruise in May.
Now renamed Mitsui Ocean Sakura, the ship is the second vessel to join the Mitsui Ocean Cruises fleet. Its first cruise under the new owner is scheduled to depart Yokohama on Saturday, September 19.
The first ship acquired from Seabourn was Seabourn Odyssey, which now operates as Mitsui Ocean Fuji. That vessel entered operational service with Mitsui Ocean Cruises in December 2024.
