Mario Salcedo Passes 9,000 Nights at Sea
Salcedo says his annual cabin budget ranges from $70,000 to $100,000, depending on the accommodation selected.
Mario Salcedo has lived almost continuously aboard cruise ships and has spent more than 9,000 nights at sea, according to the report. His time living onboard included a short interruption during the COVID era.
The report says Salcedo reached a major Royal Caribbean cruising milestone aboard Explorer of the Seas in 2025. Salcedo has said his daily budget is between $100 and $200, although he acknowledged that he needs to remain flexible about those costs.
For cabin expenses, Salcedo has placed his yearly budget between $70,000 and $100,000. He said the amount varies depending on whether he chooses an inside cabin without a window or a regular suite.
Cruise ship spa worker Irene Vivaldi said she had personally encountered four or five mostly retired women who spent months aboard ships without returning home. According to Vivaldi, they moved from one ship to another and could remain at sea for five consecutive months.
