Margaritaville at Sea secures 2027 Galveston agreement
The cruise line is scheduled to begin operating from Galveston in October 2027 under a lease approved by the port’s governing board.
The Galveston Wharves Board of Trustees unanimously approved an agreement allowing Margaritaville at Sea to start sailing from the Port of Galveston in October 2027. The addition would make Margaritaville at Sea the port’s seventh cruise line.
Port documents show the company would use passenger terminals 25 and 28, which are also used by Carnival, Disney and Princess. Most Margaritaville at Sea departures would operate from Terminal 28, with a limited number using Terminal 25 between December 2027 and the following March.
The agreement includes an initial lease term of 13 months and gives the cruise line options for two additional five-year terms. It requires at least 200,000 combined embarkations and debarkations during the initial term. That threshold would rise to 210,000 passenger movements in the first renewal period and 220,000 in the second.
A Margaritaville at Sea spokesperson said the company planned to announce further details at a Galveston media event the following month.
