Marella Cruises Plans About 20 Koper Calls in 2026

Port scheduling data shows the cruise line is expected to make more arrivals at the Slovenian port than any other brand during the season.

Marella Cruises is scheduled to make around 20 calls at the Port of Koper during the 2026 cruise season, according to the Slovenian port’s publicly available scheduling data.

Reports from the port operator indicate that Marella is expected to lead cruise brands by number of arrivals at Koper, placing it ahead of Norwegian Cruise Line and Viking Cruises. The port’s overview for the coming season also lists Marella Voyager among the ships due to make their first call there.

Marella markets Koper as its only Slovenian port of call. The destination appears on week-long Eastern Mediterranean itineraries alongside Dubrovnik and Kotor, with the company highlighting Koper’s proximity to the Italian border and its accessibility from established Adriatic routes.

Elsewhere in the region, Italian legislation adopted in 2021 restricted large cruise vessels from central Venice waterways, including the Giudecca Canal and San Marco basin. Large ships have since used alternatives including Marghera, Trieste and Ravenna.
