Man dies after fall aboard Norwegian Getaway returning to Miami
The incident was reported during the final night of a three-night Bahamas sailing that had called at Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay.
A man died after falling from a balcony onto a lower deck aboard Norwegian Getaway as the cruise ship returned to Miami on Sunday night, according to the report.
Passenger Wes Sold said an emergency announcement was made over the ship’s public-address system sometime between 11 p.m. and midnight. The report said the passenger fell from a balcony on either Deck 10 or Deck 11 to the port-side promenade on Deck 7 and was killed.
Norwegian Getaway was completing the final night of a three-night round-trip cruise from Miami to the Bahamas. The itinerary included visits to Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian’s private island destination.
