Man dies after fall aboard cruise ship at PortMiami
Miami-Dade homicide detectives are handling the case as an unclassified death investigation.

A man died after falling from a deck of a cruise ship docked at PortMiami early Monday, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to reports of the fall at about 3:30 a.m. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel pronounced the man dead aboard the vessel, authorities said. His identity had not been released.
Separate cruise-industry reporting identified the ship as Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Getaway. It reported that a male passenger fell late Sunday from an upper-deck balcony, possibly on Deck 10 or 11, to the Deck 7 promenade area while the vessel was returning from a three-night Bahamas cruise.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau continued to investigate, classifying the case as an unclassified death investigation. The Miami-Dade medical examiner’s office is expected to determine the official cause and manner of death.
