Liepāja closes cruise season with seven ship visits
The Latvian port welcomed more than 4,000 cruise passengers and has 11 calls booked for 2027.

Liepāja concluded its cruise season after receiving seven cruise ship visits, a total described as a record for the Latvian port in recent years. More than 4,000 cruise passengers visited the city during the year.
The final call was made by Oceania Cruises’ 180-metre Insignia. The ship carried 600 passengers, most of them from the United States.
Rough estimates placed the economic benefit to Liepāja from cruise passengers during the season at approximately €400,000.
Bookings indicate further growth, with 11 cruise ship calls already scheduled for the 2027 season. The manager of the Liepāja Special Economic Zone said the longer-term objective is to attract 20 to 30 calls annually, supporting a more permanent foundation for tourism infrastructure, guides and excursion programs.
