A 29-year-old Kenyan cruise ship worker was receiving medical care after an incident aboard a vessel in the Bahamas, according to local media reports and police information cited in those reports.
The incident occurred shortly after midday on August 15, 2026, while the ship was in the Nassau area. Police were notified after ship officials reported that the crew member had ingested a chemical substance, prompting an emergency medical response.
Reports said the man was found vomiting and was transported to a hospital in serious condition. A doctor cited by local media said he arrived sedated and was unable to communicate at the time.
The crew member was expected to be airlifted to the United States for additional treatment as authorities monitored his condition. Bahamian police were investigating the matter as an alleged attempted suicide, but the circumstances surrounding the incident remained unclear.
