Jewel Tours Japan Expands Private Shore Excursion Offering
The company now serves nine Japanese cruise ports as standard, with arrangements at additional ports available upon request.

Jewel Tours Japan has announced an expansion of its custom private shore excursions for cruise passengers. Its standard port coverage includes Yokohama, Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, Shimizu, Omaezaki, Fukuoka, Hakodate and Kochi, while travelers may request tours from other Japanese ports.
According to the company, excursion planning starts with the passenger’s ship, port and available time ashore. The return-to-ship deadline is set first, with the itinerary then developed backward from that time. Jewel Tours Japan says its planning also accounts for possible traffic and train delays, while guides monitor timing during the excursion.
Each tour includes an English-speaking guide who lives in or near the destination city. Depending on the port and the group’s preferences, excursions can be conducted on foot, by private vehicle or through a combination of both.
Groups of up to six passengers travel with one guide. When a vehicle is used, the company says it is reserved for the party rather than shared with other cruise guests.
