Jamaica records more than 736,000 cruise passengers through July
Tourism officials are seeking to broaden cruise activity beyond the island’s principal ports, with additional calls reported in Kingston and Port Antonio.

Jamaica welcomed 736,372 cruise passengers from 234 ship calls between January and July, according to Phillip Rose, the country’s deputy director of tourism for the Americas.
Montego Bay, Falmouth and Ocho Rios handled much of the cruise traffic during the seven-month period. Rose said activity was also expanding to other parts of Jamaica, with four ships visiting Port Antonio and Kingston during that time.
Rose also said Disney Destiny is expected to begin calling at Falmouth on October 13, carrying just under 2,800 passengers.
Cruise operators currently calling in Jamaica include Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Virgin Voyages. Tourism officials are working to increase both the number of ships visiting the island and the range of ports included in their itineraries.
