Icon of the Seas scheduled for Galveston deployment in 2027
The move would make the Royal Caribbean ship the first Icon Class vessel to homeport outside Florida.

Icon of the Seas is scheduled to begin operating from Galveston in August 2027, marking the first time an Icon Class ship is set to homeport outside Florida.
The vessel is expected to begin its Texas service using Galveston’s existing infrastructure. Separately, Galveston Wharves and Royal Caribbean Group are negotiating terms for a proposed fifth cruise terminal at Pier 14 that would be designed to accommodate Icon Class ships.
The proposed facility, commonly referred to as Terminal 5, is not expected to open before 2030. No final agreement for the project was specified.
Galveston is also expected to add service from Margaritaville at Sea. The cruise line is scheduled to begin operating from the port through Terminal 28 on Oct. 1, 2027.
