Icon of the Seas drops Costa Maya call after Miami delay
A maintenance issue kept the Royal Caribbean ship in Miami overnight, turning the itinerary’s third day into a day at sea.

Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas canceled its scheduled September 26 visit to Costa Maya, Mexico, after a maintenance issue delayed the ship’s departure from Miami overnight.
A notice sent to passengers said the vessel had been expected to leave Miami on Saturday but remained docked until Sunday. Another passenger notice shared on social media listed the revised departure for Sunday, September 27, and said the third day of the voyage would be spent at sea instead of in Costa Maya.
According to a separate social media post, affected passengers were offered at least $300 in onboard credit. The post said compensation amounts varied depending on cabin type.
