How to reach Sydney’s two cruise terminals
Airport rail provides a direct route toward Circular Quay, while White Bay generally requires a road transfer.
Cruise ships visiting Sydney berth at either the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay or the White Bay Cruise Terminal on the harbour’s western side. Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Princess may use either location depending on vessel size and schedules, according to the report, so passengers should confirm their assigned terminal.
The Overseas Passenger Terminal is served by train, ferry and bus connections through nearby Circular Quay station. T8 Airport & South Line trains run directly to Circular Quay from Sydney Airport’s international terminal and both domestic terminals. The reported rail journey takes about 20 to 25 minutes, followed by an estimated eight- to 10-minute walk to the cruise terminal.
White Bay does not have an adjacent train station. Using regular public transport requires a combination of bus, light rail or ferry services, followed by a short taxi or rideshare trip. The report estimates that a direct taxi from Sydney Airport to White Bay takes approximately 25 to 35 minutes, depending on traffic. Uber, DiDi and Ola also serve the terminal, according to the report.
