Holland America revises Zaandam Pacific itinerary
The updated round-trip sailing from San Diego drops Fanning Island, extends two calls and changes the order of visits to Raiatea and Bora Bora.

Holland America Line has revised Zaandam’s planned Pacific itinerary, saying changes were needed because the ship’s intended operating speed would require adjustment during parts of the voyage. The round-trip sailing from San Diego was originally scheduled to visit destinations in Hawaii, Kiribati and French Polynesia.
The revised schedule removes Tabuaeran, Kiribati, which is also known as Fanning Island. Following that cancellation, the ship’s calls at Kahului, Hawaii, and Moorea, French Polynesia, have been extended.
Zaandam is also scheduled to visit Raiatea before Bora Bora, reversing the previously planned order of those calls.
Passengers booked on the affected departure will receive a non-refundable onboard credit. Holland America said it can be applied to eligible onboard purchases and services, including specialty dining, spa services, retail purchases and shore excursions.
On an earlier Alaska voyage, a technical problem affecting a propulsion system prevented Zaandam from maintaining normal speed. The issue led to an extended Juneau stay and the cancellation of calls at Skagway and Ketchikan, as well as planned scenic cruising in Glacier Bay. Holland America has not confirmed any connection between that incident and the latest itinerary revisions.
