Holland America Reschedules Oosterdam Upgrade, Cancels Five 2027 Cruises
The ship is now set to resume service Oct. 31, with four additional Mediterranean, transatlantic and Caribbean sailings added afterward.

Holland America Line has canceled five Oosterdam cruises after advancing the ship’s upgrade project by five weeks. The affected departures were scheduled for Sept. 11, Sept. 21, Oct. 2, Dec. 2 and Dec. 9, 2027. The cruise line attributed the revised timing to strong demand for voyages aboard upgraded ships and said booked guests will be contacted about rebooking options.
Oosterdam is scheduled to return to service Oct. 31, 2027, on a 10-day voyage from Rome to Trieste, Italy. Holland America has also added four cruises to the ship’s post-upgrade schedule.
The new itineraries comprise an 11-day sailing from Trieste to Piraeus departing Nov. 10; a seven-day cruise from Piraeus to Barcelona leaving Nov. 21; a 13-day transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale departing Nov. 28; and an 11-day roundtrip Caribbean voyage from Fort Lauderdale beginning Dec. 11.
According to the company, guests booked on the cruises previously designated as Oosterdam’s December 2027 inaugural and first transatlantic voyages will be offered the opportunity to transfer to the corresponding new sailings. Holland America expects the added cruises to open for reservations early in the following month.
