Holland America recognized in 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards
The cruise line received recognition across two ship-size categories for a third consecutive year.

Holland America Line has been recognized in the Mid-Size and Large-Size Ship categories of Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards. The company credited its employees aboard ships and ashore for the result, which it said marked the third straight year readers had ranked the brand among the best cruise lines.
Readers evaluated their voyages on service, ship design, food and amenities. Holland America pointed to features including its Dutch Day traditions, such as stroopwafel turndown service, as well as dining, live music and stage productions.
The company’s fleet is divided into four classes. Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam and Koningsdam comprise the Pinnacle Class, while Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam are Signature Class vessels. The Vista Class includes Noordam, Oosterdam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam, and the smaller R Class consists of Volendam and Zaandam. Volendam’s size allows it to pass beneath bridges along the St. Lawrence River and reach Montréal, demonstrating how vessel dimensions can shape itinerary access.
