Holland America Plans Six-Ship Evolution Refurbishment Program
Oosterdam will begin the multi-year fleet project in December 2027, followed by Zuiderdam in spring 2028.
Holland America Line plans to renovate six existing ships through its multi-year Evolution project, bringing features associated with its Pinnacle Class vessels to Vista and Signature Class ships. Oosterdam is scheduled to debut the changes in December 2027.
The company said every Oosterdam stateroom will be renovated, while new accommodation categories will be introduced. These will include 24 Vista Suites featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, teak-lined verandas, and separate sleeping and sitting areas. Two Bridgeview Suites at the front of the ship will offer separate living and sleeping spaces and wraparound balconies.
Oosterdam will also gain a Grand Dutch Café serving coffee, pastries, stroopwafels and small plates. Its first planned sailing after the renovation is a seven-day Western Mediterranean cruise departing Barcelona on Dec. 2, 2027, with calls at Valencia, Malaga, Lisbon and Tangier before returning to Barcelona.
Zuiderdam is due to undergo its Evolution refurbishment in spring 2028. Holland America said the ship will add a Grand Dutch Café and Solo Verandah, Bridgeview and Vista accommodation categories. Pinnacle Class amenities are also planned for Westerdam, Noordam, Nieuw Amsterdam and Eurodam in the coming years.
