Holland America plans pickleball tournament at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay
The Private Island Invitational is scheduled during a March 2027 Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard Nieuw Statendam.

Holland America Line, the Professional Pickleball Association Tour and Major League Pickleball have announced the Private Island Invitational, a professional tournament planned for RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay.
The competition is scheduled for March 13, 2027, during a seven-day Eastern Caribbean sailing aboard Nieuw Statendam departing March 7. Professional players are expected to compete on four newly built pickleball courts as the destination marks its 30th anniversary.
Before the tournament, Holland America plans four Countdown Cruises with pickleball programming and appearances by PPA professionals. Activities are set to include coffee chats, trivia, meet-and-greets and lessons, along with a professional clinic at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay.
The series begins with a nine-day Southern Caribbean cruise aboard Nieuw Amsterdam on Nov. 20, 2026. Zuiderdam will host a seven-day Western Caribbean itinerary covering the Greater Antilles and Mexico on Dec. 12. Eurodam will then operate two seven-day Eastern Caribbean sailings featuring Amber Cove and the Bahamas, departing Jan. 2 and Jan. 23, 2027.
Holland America says each ship in its fleet offers at least one pickleball court, as well as equipment, beginner instruction and open-play sessions.
