Holland America plans new venues for Oosterdam and Zuiderdam
The updates are part of a six-ship renovation program valued at more than $500 million.

Holland America Line plans to add entertainment spaces and accommodations to Oosterdam and Zuiderdam through Evolution, which the company describes as the largest multi-ship renovation initiative in its 153-year history.
The program is expected to encompass all six Vista and Signature Class vessels. Holland America says its investment of more than $500 million will fund new venues and accommodations as well as renovations to existing passenger areas.
Both ships are slated to gain bandstands at their Lido Pools. Oosterdam is scheduled to receive the feature following its Evolution work in fall 2027. Its Ocean Bar will also be redesigned with a relocated bar, new stage and revised lounge seating. The venue’s design will draw on Rotterdam V, Art Deco styling and nautical elements, while existing furnishings will be reupholstered in fabrics containing recycled material.
Plans for Oosterdam and Zuiderdam also call for Grand Dutch Cafe locations and additional staterooms and suites. Bookings are open for cruises scheduled after each ship’s refurbishment.
Separately, port documents show that Seattle’s Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91 and Bell Street Pier at Pier 66 now have shore-power capability at every berth.
