Holland America Opens Oosterdam’s First Post-Upgrade Cruises
The ship will return to service in October 2027 with new accommodations and venues following work in Marseille.

Holland America Line has opened bookings for Oosterdam’s first five sailings after an overhaul, beginning with a 10-day Mediterranean itinerary departing Rome on Oct. 31, 2027.
Oosterdam is the first ship scheduled to undergo Holland America Evolution, a multiyear fleet upgrade that the company describes as the largest investment in its 153-year history. Work at a shipyard in Marseille, France, will bring features associated with the line’s newer Pinnacle Class ships to the older vessel.
Planned additions include a Solo Verandah category for single travelers, forward-facing Bridgeview Suites, Vista Suites and a redesigned Pinnacle Suite. The ship will also receive a Grand Dutch Café and an updated Ocean Bar.
The first cruise, Adriatic Antiquities, will travel from Rome to Trieste, Italy, with calls in Pompeii, Sicily, Corfu, Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor and along the Croatian coast. An 11-day voyage will follow on Nov. 10, sailing from Trieste to Piraeus through Croatia, the Greek islands and Istanbul.
A seven-day Greek islands and Malta itinerary will depart Piraeus for Barcelona on Nov. 21. Oosterdam will then leave Barcelona on Nov. 28 for a 13-day Atlantic crossing to Fort Lauderdale, including stops in Spain and Gibraltar.
