Holland America Cites Pricing Error in Zuiderdam Booking Dispute
The cruise line declined to honor the original fare but offered complimentary stateroom upgrades to affected customers who kept their bookings.

Passenger Cindy Woodring said she booked a 10-day Zuiderdam cruise at an advertised rate of $479 per person. She said the ocean-view reservation totaled $958, and she applied a $200 cruise credit before paying the remaining $758.
Three days later, according to Woodring, Holland America sent a revised confirmation showing an additional balance of $1,530. She said a cruise consultant attributed the original fare to a pricing error. Rather than pay the higher amount, Woodring canceled the reservation and received a full refund.
A Holland America representative said an incorrect price briefly appeared for the voyage and that affected guests and travel agents were notified after the issue was discovered. The company declined to honor the original fare, but offered complimentary stateroom upgrades to customers who chose to continue with the voyage.
Holland America’s supplemental pricing terms state that the cruise line may reject or cancel reservations made at an incorrect price because of printing, electronic or clerical errors, including bookings that have already been confirmed and charged.
