Hobart to host Australian Cruise Association conference in 2027
The national industry gathering will return to Tasmania for the first time in about 15 years.

Tourism Tasmania has confirmed Hobart will host the Australian Cruise Association national conference in 2027, bringing the cruise industry’s principal domestic gathering back to the state after an absence of roughly 15 years.
Publicly available information indicates the conference will take place at LUMINA, an event venue within the waterfront Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel. Tourism Tasmania led the successful bid in partnership with TasPorts, Business Events Tasmania, the City of Hobart and Destination Southern Tasmania.
Tourism Tasmania estimates cruise shipping contributes A$130 million annually to the state’s visitor economy, benefiting businesses including city hospitality operators, regional tour providers and transport companies.
The event aligns with Tasmania’s Cruise Action Plan, which prioritizes increasing visitor expenditure and encouraging travel into regional areas rather than focusing only on higher numbers of ship calls. Public information about the plan also emphasizes managing effects on communities, protecting environmentally sensitive locations and promoting longer, more immersive shore visits.
