Harland & Wolff secures Beachcomber revitalisation project
The Margaritaville at Sea ship is due to undergo a twelve-week dry-docking programme at the Belfast yard beginning in late September 2026.
Harland & Wolff has secured a multimillion-pound project to revitalise Margaritaville at Sea’s Beachcomber at its Belfast ship repair yard.
The project is expected to generate approximately forty million pounds for the Belfast region through the use of the yard, its facilities and skilled workforce. Local contractors and suppliers MJM, Mivan and Madden Marine will support the work.
Beachcomber is due to arrive in Belfast in September 2026 for a twelve-week dry-docking programme beginning late that month. The conversion will encompass the vessel’s central atrium, spa, children’s facilities, speciality dining venues, nightclub and external VIP areas, along with extensive rebranding.
The ship is scheduled to enter service from PortMiami in January 2027, operating Caribbean cruises as the largest vessel in Margaritaville at Sea’s three-ship fleet.
Navantia UK acquired Harland & Wolff’s Belfast, Appledore, Methil and Arnish facilities in January 2025. More than one thousand employees transferred to the company.
