HANSEATIC spirit makes record cruise call at Port of Ipswich
Associated British Ports described the expedition ship’s visit as the largest cruise call in the port’s history.

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ HANSEATIC spirit visited the Port of Ipswich on Saturday, 3 October, during a 13-night sailing from Reykjavik, Iceland, to Hamburg, Germany. Associated British Ports said it was the largest cruise ship visit the port has recorded.
Built in 2021, HANSEATIC spirit is one of three sister expedition ships and has capacity for as many as 230 guests. The vessel is constructed to passenger ice class PC6 and operates itineraries in destinations ranging from polar regions to the Amazon.
During the Ipswich call, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises offered passengers a walking tour focused on the city’s history. The itinerary also provided an opportunity to sail along the River Orwell and visit Ipswich’s historic waterfront and town centre.
