Greencastle cruise calls connect passengers with Inishowen attractions
Go Visit Inishowen operated visitor information desks aboard several ships during the 2026 season and is exploring further cruise opportunities with Visit Derry.

Cruise ship arrivals at Greencastle brought passengers into the village and to attractions across Inishowen during the 2026 season, supporting visits to local businesses and tourism sites.
Go Visit Inishowen was invited aboard several visiting liners for the first time to run an Inishowen visitor information desk. The tourism organisation said the initiative allowed its team to speak with passengers before they disembarked and provide details about nearby attractions, activities and places to visit.
Passengers explored Greencastle, visited the Inishowen Maritime Museum and stopped at local shops and cafés. Some walked toward the castle and continued to Moville or Shrove, while others travelled to Doagh Famine Village. Pre-booked excursions also took cruise guests across Inishowen, Derry and the Causeway Coast.
Go Visit Inishowen is working with Visit Derry to examine how cruise visits could further benefit the North West. The organisation is also looking ahead to 2027, when the upgraded Inishowen Maritime Museum is expected to reopen.
