Freedom of the Seas to return to Southampton in 2028
Royal Caribbean plans a second consecutive summer season for the ship at the UK port, with cruises ranging from two to nine nights.

Royal Caribbean plans to base Freedom of the Seas in Southampton from May through October 2028 as part of its newly announced European cruise program. The deployment will mark the ship’s second consecutive summer sailing from the port.
Freedom of the Seas is also scheduled to offer Southampton departures in summer 2027. It will replace Mariner of the Seas following itinerary changes previously announced by the cruise line.
The 2028 Southampton sailings will range from two to nine nights, with fares starting at £460 per person. Royal Caribbean says the ship has nine bars and 10 dining venues, including five complimentary options.
Freedom of the Seas will be among seven Royal Caribbean ships operating in Europe during summer 2028, with the wider program including departures from Barcelona, Rome and Athens. The company also plans to keep Rhapsody of the Seas in Europe throughout the 2028-29 season. That ship is scheduled to offer seven- to 12-night cruises from Athens, Barcelona and Lisbon, including itineraries calling in Egypt, Istanbul and Santorini.
