Federal officers remove 10 Norwegian Escape crew members in Boston
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the action was conducted under an operation targeting child sexual abuse and exploitation material among maritime workers.

Federal officers removed 10 crew members from Norwegian Escape in Boston after each admitted to consuming child sexual abuse or exploitation material, according to authorities.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said its agents detained nine Philippine citizens and one Nepalese citizen on Aug. 31. The agency said the admissions were made during a second interview.
The enforcement action was part of Operation Tidal Wave, a federal initiative focused on child sexual abuse and exploitation material involving maritime crew members.
Customs officials said CBP had previously removed 14 crew members from Norwegian Breakaway, Holland Volendam and Vision of the Seas. A report also said officers took administrative action against 27 crew members from six vessels in San Diego in April.
According to the report, a second phase of the operation in San Juan during June and July resulted in 14 removals. Federal prosecutors accepted one case for prosecution.
