Explora III starts inaugural Mediterranean voyage
Explora Journeys has directed the ship’s additional length toward more restaurants, bars and public areas rather than extra cabins.

Explora III is sailing its inaugural Mediterranean voyage for Explora Journeys. Almost 20 metres longer than its predecessors, the vessel uses the added space for dining venues, bars and public areas instead of increasing cabin numbers.
The 50-square-metre Cove Residence features a separate living area, floor-to-ceiling windows, a walk-in wardrobe, a king-size bed and a balcony. The new Owner’s Residence provides 183 square metres of interior space and a further 132 square metres outdoors, including a private steam room and an outdoor whirlpool.
Most restaurants are included in the fare. Anthology is the exception, with a £171 cover charge for its seven-course tasting menu. Retail options include Mandala by Ocean Atelier, a new jewellery collection by Fanny Blanchelande, as well as Cartier, Rolex and Chopard boutiques.
Explora Journeys says the ship’s next European itinerary will be the eight-night Journey through Nordic Discoveries & Geothermal Wonders, departing Southampton in September. The stated fare includes drinks, meals and gratuities, while flights are excluded.
