Explora III makes maiden call at Southampton
The visit formed part of the ship’s inaugural Northern European programme and included an onboard event for UK travel advisors.
Explora III made its first call at Southampton, welcoming 25 travel advisors from across the UK aboard to experience the ship.
The occasion was marked by a crest exchange ceremony involving Captain Melani and Steve Masters, harbour master at Associated British Ports. Other participants were Katherine Barbour, Sheriff of the City of Southampton; Sarah Bogle, councillor and leader of Southampton City Council; and Isla Haddow, UK cruise director at Denholm Port Services.
The Southampton visit was part of Explora III’s inaugural Northern European programme. The ship was scheduled to depart on an eight-night voyage to Copenhagen, with Norwegian calls at Mandal, Sandnes, also listed as Stavanger, Olden, Bergen and Flåm.
Explora III is the second Explora Journeys ship to visit Southampton. Explora I made its inaugural call at the port on Aug. 30, 2023.
