Explora III begins service with Barcelona-to-Lisbon maiden voyage
The luxury ship expands the brand’s active fleet to three vessels, with six expected to be operating by 2028.
Explora III has set out on its maiden voyage from Barcelona to Lisbon. The ship carries an average of about 800 passengers and 640 crew members, equivalent to roughly one crew member for every 1.25 guests.
The vessel features 461 ocean-facing luxury suites and penthouses, with accommodations ranging from 35 to 280 square meters. Onboard amenities include seven dining venues, 12 bars and lounges, five heated swimming pools and an expanded spa. The report lists prices from $4,000 to about $67,000 per person.
Explora III is the brand’s first ship powered by liquefied natural gas and has the potential to transition to renewable fuels. During the coming season, it is scheduled to visit Northern Europe, the Baltic Sea, the Norwegian fjords, Iceland, Greenland and North America. Its first Alaska sailings are planned for 2027. Following the ship’s launch, the brand has three active vessels and expects to have six in operation by 2028.
