Explora I Showcases All-Suite Luxury With Mediterranean Fares From $4,200
Explora Journeys’ first ship carries up to 900 guests and features private terraces, four pools and six main restaurants.
A reviewer spent three days and two nights aboard Explora I on a sailing from Civitavecchia, near Rome, to Porto Santo Stefano and Monaco. The report identifies Explora Journeys as MSC Group’s luxury cruise brand and Explora I as its first ship.
Explora I entered service in 2023 and accommodates as many as 900 guests across 461 ocean-facing suites, each with a private terrace. The smallest suites begin at 35 square meters, while Ocean Penthouses range from 43 to 68 square meters and include separate living and working areas.
The ship has up to 640 crew members, producing a reported guest-to-crew ratio of about 1.41 to 1. Its facilities include four pools, more than 700 square meters of wellness space, six main restaurants and 12 bars and lounges. Entertainment and retail offerings include a casino, culinary school, art gallery and luxury boutiques.
According to the report, fares for the referenced Explora Journeys itineraries begin at roughly $3,500 to $5,500 per person, depending on the destination and departure. A seven-night Mediterranean sailing aboard Explora I in June 2027 was listed from $4,200 per person for an Ocean Suite and $5,790 for an Ocean Penthouse.
