Eurodam opens Acapulco’s 2026-2027 cruise season
The Holland America Line ship’s visit also marked Carnival Corporation’s return to the port after a 15-year absence, according to Guerrero tourism officials.

Acapulco opened its 2026-2027 cruise season Monday with the arrival of Holland America Line’s Eurodam from Cabo San Lucas. The Netherlands-flagged vessel brought 2,039 passengers and 874 crew members, placing 2,913 people aboard.
Guerrero Secretary of Tourism Rosy Pavón Flores welcomed the ship and highlighted the call’s significance. According to Pavón Flores, the arrival represented Carnival Corporation’s first return to Acapulco in 15 years, while Eurodam had not docked at the port for 17 years.
The season had been expected to begin with Norwegian Joy on October 11, but that scheduled visit was canceled because of maritime safety concerns associated with Hurricane Simon and Tropical Storm Rachel. To avoid the weather systems, the cruise line revised the ship’s itinerary, sending it from Los Angeles to Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala, rather than making the planned Acapulco call.
