Disney reveals Believe theme and plans for new ship class
The fourth Wish-class vessel is due next year, while three ships in a new category are scheduled to begin launching in 2029.
Disney Cruise Line has outlined plans for a new fleet category and disclosed design details for Disney Believe, its fourth Wish-class cruise ship, which is due to launch next year.
At the D23 fan convention in California, Disney senior creative director Claire Weiss said Moana will serve as the icon of Disney Believe’s Grand Hall. The vessel’s bow will depict Tinker Bell with silhouettes of Peter Pan, Wendy and Captain Hook, while Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story will appear on the stern.
Weiss also said Disney will turn its attention to a new class after Disney Believe enters service. Three ships in the category are planned to begin launching in 2029, expanding the cruise line’s fleet to 13 vessels. The ships will be positioned in size between Disney’s classic ships and its newer vessels.
Separately, Disney Wish is scheduled to depart from the UK for the first time next summer.
