Disney Names Trent Hitchcock as Disney Believe’s Opening Cruise Director
The longtime Disney Cruise Line veteran is developing entertainment plans ahead of the Wish-class ship’s maiden voyage and inaugural season.

Disney has appointed Trent Hitchcock as the opening cruise director for the upcoming Disney Believe, announcing the selection as part of its continuing reveals for the Wish-class ship.
According to Disney, Hitchcock has worked for Disney Cruise Line for nearly two decades and has spent 10 years as a cruise director. He also served on the opening team for the Disney Destiny, which launched in November 2025.
In his new role, Hitchcock will oversee more than 200 crew members specializing in entertainment and guest experiences. Their responsibilities will include onboard activities and events, port excursions, the pirate deck party featuring fireworks at sea, and Broadway-style productions in the Walt Disney Theater.
Although the Disney Believe remains more than a year away from sailing, Hitchcock is already working on the ship’s entertainment lineup. Disney said he is scheduled to join the crew at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, in 2027, then sail aboard the vessel for its maiden voyage and inaugural season.
