Disney Imagination named as first Disney cruise ship for Japan
The Wish-class vessel is scheduled to begin short cruises from Tokyo in spring 2029.

Oriental Land Cruise has announced that its first Disney Cruise Line ship for Japan will be named Disney Imagination. The company unveiled the name during a ceremony in Tokyo on Oct. 14, 2026.
Scheduled to enter service in spring 2029, Disney Imagination is expected to sail under the Japanese flag and depart primarily from Tokyo’s international cruise terminal. Plans call for itineraries focused mainly on voyages lasting two to four nights.
The ship will be based on the design of Disney Wish, which began service in 2022, while incorporating modifications intended for the Japanese market. As a member of the Wish class, Disney Imagination is planned at approximately 140,000 gross tons, with around 1,250 cabins accommodating about 4,000 passengers. Its crew is expected to number approximately 1,500.
Oriental Land Cruise estimates that prices for common cabin categories will range from 100,000 to 300,000 yen per person. Final fares and detailed itineraries have not yet been announced.
