Disney Cruise Line unveils plans for three-ship class
The unnamed vessels are slated to join the fleet between early 2029 and late 2030.
Disney Cruise Line presented an initial look at its next generation of ships during the Horizons showcase at the Honda Center. Claire Weiss, appearing with host Neil Patrick Harris, said the three planned vessels would form a new, unnamed class with a distinct position in the company’s expanding fleet.
The ships are expected to carry about 3,000 passengers each and measure approximately 100,000 gross tons. Other project details have described the newbuilds as 105,000-ton vessels. Disney said the design will feature a refined hull, lighter construction and improved energy efficiency, while additional onboard features will be disclosed later.
The Walt Disney Company’s third-quarter 2026 earnings report lists ship 11 for early 2029, ship 12 for late 2029 and ship 13 for late 2030.
Disney’s wider expansion also includes Disney Believe, a 140,000-ton Wish-class ship under construction at Meyer Werft for a 2027 introduction. A separate unnamed Wish-class vessel, designed for 2,500 passengers, is due in early 2029. That ship is intended to launch Disney Cruise Line operations in Japan through a partnership with Oriental Land Company.
