Disney Cruise Line plans five more ships as fleet expands in Asia
The company is targeting a 13-ship fleet by 2031 as part of a broader $60 billion investment plan.
Disney Cruise Line’s fleet reached eight vessels following the March 2026 launch of Disney Adventure, according to the report. Disney has confirmed plans to introduce five additional ships from 2027 through 2031, increasing the fleet to 13.
Disney Adventure is the cruise line’s first ship based in Asia and operates from a Singapore hub. More than 90% of its surveyed initial guests were new to Disney Cruise Line, the report said. When the vessel entered service, more than 80% of the fleet’s capacity for fiscal 2026 had already been sold.
The expansion forms part of Disney’s planned $60 billion investment in parks, resorts and cruises over the next decade. Disney’s Experiences segment recorded a 6% year-over-year increase in operating income during the first quarter of fiscal 2026. The report attributed that growth in part to higher passenger cruise days aboard Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.
