Disney Cruise Line outlines three-ship class for 2029 and 2030

The planned vessels will feature a lightweight design, improved energy efficiency and optimized hulls.

Disney Cruise Line plans to introduce three vessels in a new class that has not yet been named. The first ship is scheduled to launch in 2029, followed by a second in late 2029 and a third in 2030. The additions are expected to expand Disney’s fleet to 13 ships.

The company plans to position the vessels between its smaller and larger existing ship classes. Disney Magic and Disney Wonder can each accommodate about 2,700 guests, while ships in the Dream and Wish classes can carry roughly 4,000. Specific guest capacities for the new class have not been provided.

A Disney preview video presented several planned technical features for all three ships, including lightweight construction, greater energy efficiency and hull designs intended for optimization. Disney Cruise Line has not announced the vessels’ names or further specifications.

Separately, Disney Believe is scheduled to begin sailing in late 2027.
