Disney Believe’s first gigablock floats out in Germany
The Wish-class ship reached a construction milestone at Meyer Werft ahead of its planned late-2027 debut.

The first gigablock for Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Believe has floated out of the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The vessel is scheduled to debut in late 2027 as the fourth ship in the Wish-class lineup, following Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.
Disney’s construction process uses large prefabricated sections known as gigablocks, some weighing more than 31,000 tons. The completed blocks are welded together to form the ship. This first section encompasses the midship area, including the Grand Hall. The forward section is expected to follow, with the aft section planned afterward.
Plans presented at D23 2026 call for a Moana-themed Grand Hall featuring Polynesian-inspired finishes and a bronze statue of Moana alongside Pua and Heihei. Exterior artwork is set to include Woody and Buzz Lightyear sculptures using oversized crayons to inscribe the ship’s name on the stern, while the bow will carry a hand-painted Tinker Bell design inspired by the 1953 film Peter Pan. Disney Believe’s venues and entertainment are planned to draw from Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana and The Little Mermaid.
