Digital nomad couple makes cruise ships their home

Libby Rome and her husband have lived and worked remotely aboard Princess ships for three years after selling most of their belongings.

Libby Rome and her husband have spent the past three years living and working remotely from cruise ships, extending a digital nomad lifestyle that began well before their move aboard.

The couple had already been digital nomads for 16 years when they packed up their home and sold most of their belongings. They now share some of their cruise experiences on social media.

Rome said they live on Princess cruise ships and travel around Europe. She said their daily costs amount to $US33 ($46) for each person.

According to Rome, having transportation, food, accommodation and entertainment largely covered helps the couple limit their expenses to essential items.

Rome said she works remotely as an IT consultant. Before adopting their cruise-based lifestyle, she moved between countries, took on different jobs and continued working remotely while living in hotels and traveling.
