Cruise photographs noted in Bradford benefit fraud case
Nathan Wood was sentenced to 16 months in prison after Bradford Crown Court heard he had falsely claimed he could not walk without assistance.

Photographs posted on Nathan Wood’s Facebook page appeared to show him and his wife taking a cruise, according to the report. Wood shared the images in August alongside a birthday message for his wife, and the pictures appeared to depict the couple aboard a cruise.
Bradford Crown Court heard that the 58-year-old, from Beacon Road in Bradford, had falsely told the Department for Work and Pensions that he was unable to walk unaided. The court was told that he received benefit payments totaling slightly more than £53,800 over nine years.
Recorder Taryn Turner sentenced Wood to 16 months in prison. Laura Clayton received a five-month prison term suspended for 12 months and was ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work.
