Cruise package costs spark disagreement between prospective travel companions
A Reddit poster said a friend objected to part of a seven-night cruise offer that included gratuities and a drink package.
Reddit user u/SukItUp said they booked a seven-night cruise using credit cards and casino comps. According to the poster, the reservation included staff gratuities and a beverage package.
The poster said a friend could join for $600, with the price covering a balcony mini-suite, taxes, fees, gratuities, dining and a drink package. In the poster’s account, the friend initially expressed interest but later agreed to pay only $160 and disputed an additional $455 in fees.
According to the post, the friend argued that gratuities were not mandatory and suggested buying an item online to help conceal alcohol brought aboard. The poster said the offer required every guest on the booking to select the same package to qualify for the deal.
