Cruise lines schedule more off-peak Mediterranean voyages
Viking, Oceania Cruises and EXPLORA Journeys are offering European itineraries outside the traditional peak season.

Viking introduced its Quiet Season Mediterranean ocean voyages in 2015, with sailings in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. Viking ANZ managing director Michelle Black said the company is seeing growth in travel beyond Europe’s traditional peak season and has long promoted its Quiet Mediterranean Season.
Oceania Cruises plans multiple sailings aboard Oceania Allura during 2027 and 2028. They include a 10-day November itinerary from Trieste to Barcelona that visits the Slovenian coastal town of Koper.
A separate two-week Oceania Allura voyage is scheduled to begin on December 20, 2027. The itinerary will travel from Southern Spain to the North African coast, then continue to Sicily and mainland Italy. The ship is due to spend Christmas in Tangier.
EXPLORA Journeys also has a Mediterranean deployment planned for EXPLORA II during its 2026 and 2027 season. That program is scheduled to begin in November.
