Cruise lines outline family offerings in Australia and the region

Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line feature age-based programs, themed activities and regional departures.

Nearly one-third of cruise guests travel in groups representing at least three generations, according to the Cruise Lines International Association 2025 report.

The report says Carnival operates four ships in the region throughout the year: Carnival Splendor, Carnival Luminosa, Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter. Its children’s programs include Camp Ocean for ages 2 to 11, Circle C for ages 12 to 14 and Club O2 for teenagers. Carnival also offers family activities and experiences through Seuss at Sea, part of its Dr. Seuss collaboration.

Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas sails from Sydney. For the 2026/27 season, the cruise line plans special Wiggly Sailings featuring The Wiggles.

Disney Cruise Line offers themed play areas through its Oceaneer Club, with options varying by ship. Areas include heroes and villains, Marvel Super Hero Academy, Star Wars: Cargo Bay and Fairytale Hall. Disney Adventure departs from Singapore and is described as the closest Disney sailing option for Australian families.
